Cassie Raynel’s array of subjects are influenced by Colorado’s rich diversity of culture, landscapes and wildlife. Her travels have provided exposure to elements and landscapes from throughout the United States and Canada and continue to influence present and planned works.

Her natural ability for art exposed itself at a very young age; This ability was nurtured and she was given a course at Mesa College when Cassie was just 10 years old. She has taken a few lessons to improve on her techniques but her true talent is from her passion, her desire to express.

"Painting is an inexplicable requirement for my spirit and well-being; I’m driven with a deep feeling that is unlike anything else I experience emotionally, it is consuming. This articulation of my ‘self’ pours out through the brush, and I’m able to explore and experiment with each stroke. I try to emphasize the depth and harmony of the subject with color transitions. Wildlife, especially, lives with a rhythm and it is important, for me, to express that in the tone, style and expression of each piece."

Cassie is currently focusing on studio and painting time and has recently been asked to teach art and acrylic painting lessons in Southern Colorado.

In June, she will be visiting Sedona Arizona, to explore the landscape, plein air painting and opportunities for promoting her artwork.

Cassie has recently opened an online forum, www.artconnect.ning.com, for artists and art-related individuals or businesses. "Art Connect has been an exciting venture; Within the first two weeks we have had 14 local artists and businesses join and express interest in the networking opportunities that Art Connect provides. We have recently gained a contemporary artist all the way from New Jersey and a graphic artist from Chicago, it is very exhilarating!"
